NeighborWoods Shade Tree Program
A partnership between the City of Cedar Hill and Keep Cedar Hill Beautiful, NeighborWoods® celebrates its third year of distributing free trees to eligible residents. The citywide initiative to enhance our neighborhoods was approved by the City Council and is available through Neighborhood Services, with assistance from the Parks Department. Volunteers will soon be canvassing neighborhoods, placing cards on the door handles of eligible homeowners. Cedar Hill residents with no trees in their front yard may receive up to two trees; those with one tree may receive only one. Residents with two or more trees in their front yard are not eligible to participate in the program at this time. To receive the free tree(s) a resident must agree to plant it in their front lawn and to water it regularly for two years. Residents may select Live Oak or Shumard Red Oak. These trees were chosen for their beauty, shade and long life. The trees will be delivered in 5-gallon containers and will be four to eight-feet tall. If you qualify and would like to receive a free tree while supplies last call 972-291-5100 ext. 1002 and leave a message.

Energy Saving Program
Garden of Eden is a provider for a program Oncor Electric Delivery has to help residents consume less energy and save money on their electric bill.
A pre-assessment test will be performed and will indicate where energy is leaking from your home.
We can then provide as needed: (2) door-strips, (2) doorsweeps, caulking around kitchen and bathroom sinks, seals around pipes underneath the kitchen and bathroom sinks, and foam gaskets behind all accessible exterior light switches and plugs.
An assessment will then be done on the A/C system. If any repairs are needed, they will repair the ducts, seal and tighten around the return and A/C unit to keep all air flowing sufficiently through your air vents instead of flowing out into the attic.
All these services are FREE to our customers and remember they come in a package deal. Once the pre-assessment is done, that will determine what is needed to help conserve energy in the home.
Qualifications to receive this service:
All income qualify!!!
The house must be at least 6 years or older; built in or before 2002; must not be an energy star home (can not qualify); and can not have a wall return nor fur-downs or fur-longs.
