Neighbor-2-Neighbor Kick Off

Our KickOff Meeting was a great success! Neighborhood leaders were invited from the community to be introduced to the to the N-2-N concept. It was held at Trios Grill, which supplied delicious food, a beautiful outdoor venue, and even a band. After Mikel Nelson's presentation, everyone mingled and began to make the connections that will become strong bonds within our extended neighborhood families.

1st Annual Citywide Neighborhood BBQ Cook-off

Our first annual cook-off was a smokin' success! Four neighborhoods from around the city sent representatives to compete for the honor of having the best BBQers in town. The winning team took home a barbecue grill, $250 credit toward a neighborhood project, and now have their name added to the trophy on display at City Hall.
The teams included Cedar Trails, headed by Willie Edwards: High Pointe, headed by Delores Shaw; Kingswood, headed by Jerry Mayfield; The Bluffs, headed by Gary Christopher

Best Ribs: Cedar Trail
Best Brisket: The Bluffs at Lake Ridge
Best Chicken: The Bluffs at Lake Ridge
